Balance On Purpose – what if your life is always filled with chaos at the level of your mind?

What if your life is always filled with chaos at the level of your mind and there are so many things to focus on all at once at any given time? How do you find your Balance On Purpose – AKA your highest path and purpose – the little pathway that leads up and out to more love and joy and not backwards or sideways?? It is tricky to even see one path when your mind is full of a thousand ideas and meanings and images! And that is just when the going is good and you are full of ideas and possibilities! What about in those scenarios when there is a lot of darkness around you, and you have the type of brain that looks at so many destinies and futures and mulls over what to do because you care about doing things right so much, how can you make sense of all the information when there are a lot of challenges and tricky times to deal with right now?

Using the frame of reference of the intuitive world always helps me when everything seems so overwhelming, this is important. By this I mean your intuition what feels positive for you, your natural gifts. You could call it whatever you like that feels right for yourself, intuition if you like spiritual matter, gut feelings if you are visceral and earthy. I like to call it your natural gifts, as that doesn’t sound too woo woo to put anyone off trying it. EVERYBODY has their own natural gifts every single person, religious or not, spiritual or not it really doesn’t matter we are all the same in that sense, and unique in that your gifts are your own and nothing and no situation will ever take that away from you remember that.

You can also see it with the frame of reference of neurodivergence. In neurotypical talk we learn that if we achieve something then there is a reward – think of training the little lab rats in the maze and all the complex skills they learnt to do to get the food treat lol! However what about the little rodents that do things out of interest?? Poor little rats hey! Anyway I digress, back to neurobioloogy – how about if you have an interest based nervous system, you cannot achieve a task for the reward, the brain transmitters will not be released for the reward, so all those reward based systems we teach ourselves in school or at home will not work very well at all. What you need to do of course is focus on the interests first.

So here is the story, you have 1,000 things to do all overhwhelming as they are probably for really hard and tricky situations if you have been drawn to my page and to read this far, you are feeling like it is too hard to achieve any of those tasks at all, so much pain and suffering to sort out and shake off, deadlines looming or conflict to manage. What do you do, because there is no reward that will ever motivate your interest based brain to start these things! You must focus on your desires (I’m talking your hyperfocus or gentle life long interests now not sexual desire ok folks!) these passions are parts of your gifts and only these will drive you forward. Where are they you cry! I have forgotten! No you haven’t ok. You really have not forgotten them, even if your mind has, of course they are still there, you just don’t remember them right now consciously, but they are still within you all around you and about you outside in your life and all around in the world too ok.

These desires are the things that will drive you forward and allow your brain to shift into gear and get working on all aspects of your life, the hard and the pleasing! So you must shift around what you do at the start of the day to release those brain chemicals. Your gifts are for you, so you must spend time on your interests FIRST, so that you can get up and get on with those looming frogs that need eating – I like that analogy of hard tasks that feel much too hard to do as little frogs that need gobbling up ‘yuk ergg’ nobody wants to eat frogs but once you find the right things to motivate you into action you’ll be downing the frogs a dozen at a time, you know that you will it is just getting into the groove that is tricky isn’t it! Hehehe of course I don’t condone eating frogs, unless that is ok for you, these are just metaphors in my mind to show how really bloomin’ hard I find it to do a task when my brain is not feeling love, eating a frog is the last thing I would ever do, no one could ever make me do that. But anyway enough of frogs, the point is that, you know deep down YOU CAN DO IT when you are firing on all cylinders! How the heck can you get those cylinders to fire when they just can’t because of different biochemistry??

We can push ourselves to hyperfocus on the task, if you develop that skill, that is awesome, but it uses a lot of energy though doesn’t it? To push your hyperfocus that far all the time? It would be good on a day-to-day everyday level to find an easier method that works all the time easily – bliss!

This is where the soul level comes into play. Yes playfulness and happiness and lightness, not hard pushing yourself into hyperfocus mode in your mind. The sweet gentle whisperings of what you have always loved doing, those small gentle butterfly wings of your soul self talking to you, and if you like and feel called to listen and like the phrase, your ‘guides’ chatting away to tell you and remind of what you really, really love.

What DO you really, really love? Everybody loves. Everybody. What you love is what you need to do first of all. This fires up those neurotransmitters, and that is whether you are neurotypical or divergent it does not matter one iota. Both are the same in this scenario, what you love is key. But of course especially important for you if you have some sort of ADHD-type symptom or you feel you could have, because doing the hard task first and then getting the love just won’t work. I do not mean blanking out what you love with masking techniques to cover the pain and hardness with numbness no. I mean the positive and healthy for you things that you have always loved, probably for a long time, not necessarily from childhood could be from early adulthood, but you will know when you found it as that feeling will have stayed in your emotional body always. You will not forget at the emotional level what brought you to love more. It is there in a different memory store. And that is where you need to go to now. Into your emotional body where positive memories of what you found for yourself that are things you loved doing.

You may need a little help to remember those memories. We all do. But help is there if you look and ask for it. I am 100% sure that right now in your home or place you are staying you have what you need to find one of those positive memories of what you did to bring feelings of love to you. Not later on, or next week or when you have bought another “thing” whatever it is, no. Right now there is something there for you. Remember the little light that you have to see the next step, well you can shine that light to see what brings you love. And then do the activitiy that brings you love as that is what you are interested in, and then once you are fired up you will be able to start those other tasks or even eat a frog if that makes you laugh all the better!!
